GFCF welcomes two new donors

17 Jun 2016

The GFCF is delighted to announce new grants from two first-time donors.

The Inter-American Foundation (IAF), an independent U.S. government agency, has confirmed a two-year cooperative agreement of $185,000. IAF was created by Congress in 1969 to channel development assistance directly to the organized poor in the LAC region. IAF works by investing in creative ideas for self-help from grassroots groups and NGOs through the provision of grants. This grant represents IAF’s contribution to the Global Alliance for Community Philanthropy and will be focused on activities in the Latin America / Caribbean region.

The Fondation Assistance Internationale (FAI), based in Switzerland, has confirmed a two-year grant of €200,000, which will support the GFCF’s grantmaking and learning activities. FAI was created in 2002 by private donors with the objective of promoting international solidarity projects that prioritize the involvement of local organizations and institutions who are committed to the lasting development of their communities.
