- $25,000 to Mexico’s Fondo Semillas, to support their work in launching a “Women Rebuilding their Communities Fund” following the devastating earthquakes that hit six Mexican states in 2017. The Fund aims to strengthening citizens’ participation and women’s leadership in Mexico’s long-term earthquake recovery efforts. Watch a video about the Fund here.
- An institutional development grant to the Mongolian Women’s Fund (MONES) in the amount of $17,000, to allow MONES to assess and improve its internal structures and processes, as well as to conduct a review of its grantmaking strategy. This is the second GFCF grant to MONES.
- $20,000 to the Zambian Governance Foundation (ZGF) in order to establish community endowment funds as part of wider efforts to integrate community philanthropy into ZGF operations. ZGF will also be launching a new report on local giving in Zambia on 15 March 2018 (contact GFCF for more details).
