Does a four night getaway in Costa Rica’s world-renowned cloud forest sound like something you might be interested in? Thanks to the generous support of local hospitality partners, the Monteverde Community Fund (MCF) is offering those who donate to their community hub campaign a chance to win this luxurious prize! The getaway includes accommodation in a deluxe treehouse, visits to the cloud forest reserves, dining experiences at Monteverde’s restaurants, opportunities to meet the community that protects this verdant wonderland…and much more!

Each dollar donated is an entry to win, and all proceeds will be put towards the establishment of a new community hub that MCF, the Santa Elena Public Library, and UNED – Monteverde’s university branch, will call home. By entering, you will help MCF and its partners invest in Monteverde’s youth and future generations, by creating a hub that will offer support and seed funding for grassroots projects in perpetuity.

Travellers’ philanthropy – which explores how to capture resources from the tourism sector and channel them equitably into community-identified initiatives – has been a key element of MCF’s work since its establishment. With more than 200,000 annual visitors per year to the cloud forest, this adds up to a powerful force for change. For MCF, this means that they define their “community” broadly to include both permanent residents and visitors. That way, all who benefit from the region’s assets are encouraged to donate to its sustainability.

Contribute for your chance to win before 4 October 2019!
