A short film: The rise of local philanthropy

Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic, film maker Josie Fomé travelled to Uganda to shoot a documentary on the organization No-White-Saviours. While there, a different, more complex story emerged on The Rise of Local Philanthropy (2022). The documentary explores how local non-profits and ordinary people in Kampala, Uganda responded at the height of the pandemic when international aid organizations repatriated their foreign staff and closed their office doors.
